One consideration that needs to be made when a divorce action is filed is what amount, if any alimony or spousal support will be requested or offered. Alimony guildelines can very from state to state, but essentially is based upon length of marriage, income of the parties, difference in income of the parties and then of course will most likely be contingent upon co-habitation or remarriage of the party receiving the alimony.
